15" diameter walnut platter, featuring 39 equally spaced decorative arcs on the rim. This was made from one solid piece of walnut. The arcs were cut using a custom indexing jig.

Turned from Pear, hollowed, pyrographed, carved, painted, and a touch of gilders paste on top of the carved section.
This side shows Japanese women in traditional garb, the opposite side is a Japanese man also in traditional dress, and the other two sides show a Japanese Maple...
My first fluting efforts - wanted to avoid too much symmetry. Colored with spirit stains applied by airbrush and paper towel. 6 inches tall, just under 3 inches at its widest.
