Black cap mushroom. The textures and color combination on this bit of holly were ideal for this sweet yet deadly mushroom. The base is from the scrap bin, and no paint or texture added.

I made a new ladybug to give more dimension to the piece. Hopefully it is done now.

This blank really got my attention when I saw it, and here is the finished result. I added a little recess detail into the lid. Box is 3.25 inches high and 2.25 inches in diameter. Finished with gloss lacquer. The sapwood contrast and the workability of the wood make this box really nice.
