Yellow Box Burl Box

Yellow Box Burl Box

This little Yellow Box Burl Box measures 2.25" dia x 2.5" tall, the lid is threaded. Finished with Yorkshire grit & wax. The top is inlayed with pewter and fitted with a Swarovski crystal. The added crystal was a save as the pewter was too hot when I poured it and was bubbling in the middle as it cooled leaving a fairly large void that was exposed while turning. We had a number of crystals from past projects so decided to save the piece rather than start over, again!
Cool box, Dave! Might be the most unsavory wood I’ve ever seen with RE embellishment. I mean that in a good way! Very cool.

Thank you Michael, yes that burl had some bark voids/pockets and I left it natural, these were cut off pieces from a large burl cap that we cut into peppermill blanks. I like the raw look on a polished piece, Wabi Sabi.
