Very nice JD. I like the open flaring on the top and the bottom. Did you do any initial fluting with a router or was this done entire by hand?

The finish work on this is great too! What finish are you using?

Thanks Jeff. All of the fluting was done by hand. The inside is also fluted about 6" or 7" down from the top. I use General Finish Arm-r-seal oil and urethane top coat rubbed on and 4/0 steel wooled between coats.

I THINK THIS IS A WONDERFUL PIECE OF WORK. I WANT TO START DOING SOME SCULPTING AND HAVE A PROXXON 2". CAN YOU SUGGEST ANY READING MATERIAL OR DVD'S? THANKS... OH YEAH, HOW MUCH TIME IN THIS PIECE?

Thanks IrishMike, I also use a Poxxon 2" mini grinder. I do not know of any DVDs or books covering this type of sculpting, I sat thru a couple of Ron Flemings demos at my local club meetings. He is a great turner/sculpter and I learned a lot from his demos but I don't think he has a DVD or book out. And I don't know how much time I had in this piece, I usually don't keep track.
