Wedding Vase
Malcolm Tibbetts

Wedding Vase

Created by first turning two vessels, splitting them apart, joining them, and then inserting the round designs on each side. Tulipwood, Texas Ebony and many exotics - 15" tall
e, the handle was constructed with the grain oriented towards the viewer, thus permitting a side-grain to side-grain ring assembly. It was then turned separately and carefully fitted to the neck tops (again, with side-grain connections). For reason of strength, it was important to avoid unsupported end-grain joints.
