Walnut Bark Rings

I turned the rings from a walnut limb my father-in-law gave me, which he said had been in his garage for 30 years.
I turned 2 seperate rings, cut one in half and reglued it around the other. They are joined together with a brass pin.
2 Walnut rings - 5" dia X 9-1/2" tall mounted on a ebonized cherry base.
Finished with oil and wax
A very eye catching piece. Your piece just proves it doesn't have to be a bowl or hollow form. Great job. Think of the possibilities you could come up with a half dozen or more rings.

Best new piece I've seen in some time. Reminds me of those old wide white wall tires! Outstanding!

Thanks everyone for all the nice comments. What's funny is my wife said they looked like tires too! Like Dick said, it has a lot of possibilities.
