My first foray into turning citrus wood. Could be orange, lemon or grapefruit as that is what they raised at the orchard where I snagged a couple of pieces from the mountain of firewood that they had collected. The owner said "Take what you want. Just be careful of the scorpions" !!!!!!! Karen's brother and SIL brought this back for us from AZ as we were riding in an airplane.
It's a lovely creme color, tight grained and difficult to turn as it seems to quickly take the edge off cutting tools. I wanted this smooth and deep without being super shiny so I applied 10 coats of lacquer sanding sealer which has lots of solids but is dead flat. The cracks were filled with tinted epoxy. I wet sanded to 2000g then polished and I like the result.
