Valentine

Arbutus Salt or Pepper mill, prepped and drilled on the wood lathe then fluted on the Rose Engine using the curvilinear slide rest and Universal Cutting Frame with carbide diamond shaped cutters. This is a very slow process as each pass is only cutting 15 thou and the 12 flutes take almost 15 minutes. The curve is over .5" deep so that's over 10 hors of cutting time. The design was to create a woman dancing in her long gown twirling about, maybe at a Valentines dance.
