When I use the Rosewoods for making boxes, the pores often are quite large, and fill with white residue when sprayed with lacquer. So on this box, turned from Brazilian Tulipwood (Dalbergia frutescens) I made a few changes from my previous Tulipwood Round Bottom Box posted last year. I refined the shape, made the lid proportions better, and finished with only abrasive wax. Turned in my signature round bottom style, it sports a true round bottom. undercut domed lid, and chamfered edges on the lid. Finished with abrasive wax. Size is 1 5/8" tall x 1 3/4" diameter. This wood really is gorgeous!
