Tribal Patterns (2 of 2)

3rd pedestal bowl in current series. Total height is approx. 14", bowl is about 5" diameter. Pedestal is maple covered in 6 coats of leather dye (first 3 red, then 3 black. Pedestal is then returned to lathe for the circular incised cuts. Removed from lathe and carved. Loosely based on petroglyphs I have seen and skethced or rubbed onto paper. Bowl is a beaded BLM Burl. Round bottom bowl nestles into a slight depression in the top of the pedestal.

As always, comments and critiques are welcomed.
Here's my critique in the hope of getting some back.
IMHO
I like the pedestals more than the combination. The combo, although creative looks like two very nice turnings stacked on top of each other. I can easily picture the pedestal sitting near my mask collection and would seriously consider purchasing it if stumbled upon in my local gallery.
