Three Gold Buttons

This 7-inch bowl was turned from a block of spalted (and worm-eaten) maple. The bottom half was turned on center and the upper half was turned off-center on three axes. The upper edges of the bowl were shaped to enhance the twisted design and three gold 'buttons' were added at each twisted edge to highlight the twist. You can see some of the worm pathway near the three buttons. Finish is Watco oil buffed on the Beall system.
