"The Queen's Gown"

Figured Maple and Gabon Ebony. I first turned the interior of the box then cut away most of the material under the wing with the bandsaw. Back on the lathe to finish the exterior of the box and the transition to the wing. Lastly the lid and three finials. It took several attempts to get the color close to what I wanted, a royal purple without losing the lovely figure in the wood. Deus Servet Reginam!
