"The Pretenders"

3 lidded non-hollow (unless you consider a .339" gun drill hole "hollowed") maple vessels mounted and displayed on a wind-sculpted and textured cedar root. African Blackwood lids. The time saved by not hollowing the vessels was spent finishing the vessels using tinted lacquer which was sanded, polished and buffed. I tried several textures and decorations on the base piece before deciding that a simple Rotary Chisel texture and black graphite spray was an elegant and quiet complement to the more lively stars of the show. 11" x 10
Thank you for looking!
Lovely contrasting finishes Pat. I really like how you presented the vessels on the base, especially the yellow one!!
