The pique-touour

this is my latest piece, turned and carved from boxwood root burl. ~30*20*12cm (12*8*5inches) from spikes to spikes.
the spikes were carved in the original roots that came out of the burl ball.
the main body has been lightly sandblasted to increase the organic look.

thanks Steve. and thanks for noticing. refining how the spikes come out of the main body is the most difficult part of the carving.
I'm very happy to say this piece has been selected in AFTAB (French Woodturners Association) juried exhibition for the next 2 years.
