The late Fern Duvall, who was the State of Hawaii wildlife biologist for over 30 years, gave me several pieces of Koa'ia. Sometimes is hard to tell if is Koa or Koa'ia. Who was better than verifying a tree as Koa'ia than Fern? Plus, he planted it himself from seeds he found in the wild. He left this world too soon and will be greatly missed. I'm calling this box the "Fern" box. This Koa'ia is so dense that I was able to chase some decent threads..Finished with Parfix 3408 and buffed with Vonax. 5 and 1/4 inches tall.
