The Council of Snowmen

Face and buttons were carved and filled with epoxy putty. Walnut hat, ash body, norway maple base and apple tree branches for arms. Maple nose dyed orange.
We love them! How was the face carved? To me, a steady hand. Thanks for the "recipe."

all circles were drilled with a 1/4" drill bit. the other areas were carved using a dremel and small bit. I use a 3/16" bit for the arms. I whittle the branches to a slight taper for a snug fit. I don't glue them in, so they can be moved around for different expressions and easily replaced if broken.

Many thanks. It's on the list for next Christmas.
