"The Catalogs"
I was a bit of a recluse as a kid. Overweight, thin skinned and a bit awkward more at home in the company of things than people. As such I spent a lot of time drooling over pre-internet mail order catalogs. Allied Radio, Lafayette Electronics, Stock Drive, J.C. Whitney and Van Waters & Rogers with all those chemicals and beautiful glassware. Years later and I am standing next to a pile of chemical glassware inherited by a friend and me with Carte Blanche. I grabbed this 1000ml boiling flask. I find a bit of art in much of what I see. It has become another voice. 10" x 4"
Thank you for looking!
Great piece Pat. Could you please provide some details on the procedures and the construction? The fit between the glass and wood looks very good and I'm wondering how this was accomplished?
Cheers.

Thanks Barry. I cut some cardboard templates the size and shape of the flask to use for patterns. Then it's just slowly taking small bites until it fits. Remember it's not a jet engine. Precise to the eye not the measuring device is what matters.

Pat, the precision of your work is always something to behold. Another fine gallery-worthy piece.

Thanks Pat. Again a great piece and excellent advise on the fitting.
Cheers.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste! Nice to see all corners (or maybe no corners at all, haha) being used in your current streak Pat!! This is cleverly executed!
