Textured Oak Vessel

The wood is Red Oak. The size is 12" tall x 6.5" wide. The
textured was created with a 3/8" carbide ball end burr on a
flexible shaft tool. Ebonizing solution and India ink were
used to create a dense black on the outside. The inside only received the ebonizing solution. The outside was burnished with various brushes and metal tools followed by black wax and light buffing.
Hi Ed This is an amazing piece the texture is wonderful it has a randomness which I know is so hard to do well the colour is great using both ebonising and ink is a great tip I have never used ink so will have to get some to try. the burnishing effect is so successful it give it a glow and soft sheen which I think is great. Thanks for sharing it I look forward to seeing your next one soon!
