Sweetgum Dichotomy 2

The rough and textured member of a pair of contrasting thin Sweetgum bowls. Turned green to 1.5mm thickness. Exterior texted with a skew and wirebrushed, and then partially painted with dark red milk paint and bright red acrylic. Interior coated with several applications of white gesso, with the final thick layer allowing to dry underneath "crinkled" cellophane to achieve the wild texture. Base layers of paint are dark red milk paint, and then thin highlight layers of bright red acrylic were added for depth. 8.5"d x 3"h.
