Spooky

Spooky

The materials are cholla cactus, Bubinga wood, and betel nut on the knob. I added the green dye. 4 1/2’ diameter and 7” tall. The cactus was given to me and for a long time didn’t know what to use it for. Suggestions were filling with resin, but I didn’t feel that would be the best use. I put a battery flickering tea light inside and the orientation in the picture was “spooky” to me. C&C welcome.
This is really cool William. The materials used are great! Can I ask how you mounted the betel nut on the lathe?
It has been a while and Spooky has a new home. When I use them I usually sand a flat and CA glue them on for turning. I have also used double sided tape and turned them on a sacrificed piece and then glue them on after the piece is made.

Thank you for the information! I have a big bag of these for some future projects and wasn't sure of the best starting approach. This helps. Cheers!
