Spline Bowl

My version of Peter Schultheiss' spline bowl. I found the construction technique more difficult than anticipated but fun to make. This bowl was made as part of my participation in Jim Driskell's advanced segmented turning class offered at Cerritos College and I would like to thank Jim for his suggestions.
Beautiful. I have to ask. How do you do that. I know how open segmented pieces are done and segmented rings. don't know how the splines are done.

@john lucas, John thanks for your comments. I found one of the most critical aspects of the construction is the alignment of the first row. Any errors there are magnified in the higher layers until you can no longer get the splines to seat. This was my 4th try before I got it right. Good luck if you try it. Jim
