Spalted Maple Vessel

Spalted Maple Vessel

This is another vessel I turned out of the sugar maple butt log. Only one more piece to go. This log has given me the opportunity to try a few different shapes to see how they show the spalting. I do wish the pith had been solid so I had the option of choosing the rim size. Turned green to finish. There was some movement while the pieces dried in the paper bag. The HF is spalted Sugar Maple, 8.75 tall x 7. Oil finish. Comments & Critiques appreciated.
George, nice job on this HF. I like the shape and the way the spalting runs it help accentuates the height of the form.
Keep up the good work. Anxious to see your final turning from this wood.
Steve
