Song Bowl

Ash bowl for daughter of a country music star with song that he wrote for her on the rim
Like the creativity on this bowl. Tell us a little more about your process for making the musical notes.

Yep...that's the hard part :) needed flat spot on rim but didn't want it So thick...angled it in and undercut to thin walls...the 5 lines of the staff done with a skew before bowl going out of round (even when rough turned for a year)...then draw in notes with Ticonderoga (sp) soft #2 pencil (erases cleanly)...lastly burn in pencil marks using small skew tip, small ball tip and whatever is in your burning pen kit that will make a circle...gently wipe with alcohol cloth and finish. Suggest spending time practicing on flat pieces of same wood as bowl. Making the bowl is the easy part ;)
