Solution I think

Red oak endgrain bowl about 9" diameter by about 8" high with Danish oil finish. This bowl was made in response to a thread on the discussion forum about turning natural edge bowls that do not crack. The live tree was cut down in early September and has only 1 very insignificant crack in the lip just under the bark, which probably would not have occurred if I would have used a more tulip like flair on the lip.
