Snakewood Mini Round Bottom Box

As I begin to explore more woods, particularly rarer woods, the size blanks I can find gets harder. So I am going to create a series of boxes with my signature form, but in a mini form! So here is the first one, turned from Snakewood (Brosimum guianense), this wood is regarded as the most expensive and rare woods in the world. This billet only 1 1/2" square, but had really nice figure and color. Turned, hollowed, and finished with gloss lacquer. Size is 1 1/2" in diameter x 1 1/2" tall. I will continue to find rare woods, but my work might be a smaller version of my normal boxes!
