This piece of Cotton wood had a crack and after hollowing to thin wall 3/16 inch thick. I drilled holes on both sides of the crack on each side of the opening. laced with dyed black sisal and turned the small beads for each side. The vessel is 4 inches tall and 4 3/4 inches wide. Finished with Danish oil and wet sanded down to 2000 for that soft, smooth feeling.
