Small Locust Calabash

Small Locust Calabash

Maybe black locust? It's very yellow. ~4" x 2"
I think the proportions of this bowl are just about perfect! The grain is beautiful. It has a stunning simplicity that I love.

@Lou Jacobs @Emiliano Achaval Thank you both! I wish I had more of this wood. It was the only piece I was able to salvage from a cracking log I was given. While turning, the heartwood was so yellow and the sapwood so white, the shavings looked like scrambled eggs.

@Darrell Stokes Darrell, you are in Kingston? Until about a year ago right now, we had a place in the Adirondacks. Live in Baltimore. We spent lots of time on the Thruway back and forth, often with wood to turn in the back of the car. We think of those trips, and Kingston fondly. Take care!
