segmented vase

This vase was fun a little trickyI have never done a segmented vase using multiple different color woods to form a design. This vase is 14 inches high by 10 1/2 in diameter and has 798 segments. It is made out of walnut, box elder, maple, cherry and mahogany wood. Oil finished.
Nice job Jim! Your alignment looks solid. For what it’s worth, I would lose the feature at the foot; I’m a big fan of segmented top to bottom. My last add would be to pay attention to what your wood colors will look like after they start to fade with age. More contrasting woods tend to show tour pattern better over time….if that’s important, lol. There’s my .02 worth about half that!!
