Sea Urchin Lidded Box

A lidded box from a sea urchin shell and Blackwood. About 4 inches tall.
Very nice Kurt great idea.....Now I know what I can do with those large Sputnicks that I have. Hope you don't mind if I borrow a little of you idea.

Bill, not a problem. Help yourself. I am surprised you hadn't seen that before. A picture of that box was posted on WOW back in 2007. I was sure I had brought it when I did the piercing and ornament demo for your club back then. Regardless, I got thinking back about all of the urchin stuff after the recent Journal article and started digging out old pix.

Robert, For years, I have gotten all of my urchin shells from a company in FL called SeaShellWorld.com. I order via the inet and they show up promptly. The shells I use for my hanging ornaments and that particular lidded box are the "large sputnik sea urchin shell". The packaging shows the country of origin as the Philippines. I don't know whether the animal is native to the Phiippines or the animals were just processed there.
