I haven't been turning for awhile and decided I'd better do something before I forget how to do it. This piece is turned from figured Maple and Ebony. It measures 13" X 6". The design in the ring around the top was defined using pyrography and then pierced. Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

Very nice. Maybe the camera angle, but can't help thinking the handle is too much for the piece. The height and size of the handle seems to over power the vessel and draw your eye away from the vessel details. Very nice craftsmanship.

Richard, I agree. The top needs some more work. The photo does make it look larger than it is for some reason. I'm thinking of lowering the top some and putting a curve in the top piece.

Gary, the finish is satin Lacquer.

Thank you all for the comments.

It's been a long time! Welcome back!
