Rimu and Rust

Rimu Platter 300mm Dia 12 inches
I am enjoying playing with texture and my new friend Rust and verdigris
Terry, another great piece. Would you please explain the rust and verdigris process and what you use? I have used a paint kit process but cant get any result close to yours.
Thanks,
Norm

Carve or texture the rim before cutting out the inside so a picture frame can be cut around the edge of the texture
Sanding seal with acrylic sanding sealer as the Rust is water based and doesnt like solvent
There are numerous products One I use is made by modern day creations a Us company Most extensive art stores have a similar product .Although you will need to shop around as the price can be very expensive ,
The last lot I got was from the French art shop and cost $384nz for a litre but this will last forever (I hope )I calculated the cost of applying to this platter was about $12
Slap on the base let dry ,apply another coat the more coats you give the richer the effect
Then sponge on the acid with a bit of practice you get a feel for the finished effect and the amount of acid to apply .So easy to do its certainly not Rocket science if I can get it looking right
