Curly Maple - 106mm tall, 109mm at rim. Collaborative piece with Phil Brown. When I turned this vessel I was taking my first few steps back into the shop after an injury kept me from turning for almost a year. The beauty of the wood that my father had first uncovered in his rough turned vessel inspired me to re-enter the shop. I tried to honor what I believed would have been his form for this piece.

I hope it wasn't a turning injury, Alex. It's always good to get back in the shop after a long medical pause - I can relate to that as well. Looking forward to seeing more 'collaborations' with your father's rough outs.
