Remediation

Walnut, roughly 5" x 5". Turned, carved, sanded, ruined, sat on the shelf, carved some more, sanded some more, wood-burned a little, wipe-on poly.
Well, it turned out well, Tom.....:)

I've also had a few "ruined" bowls that were a complete surprise when, after years on the shelf, turned out well! I guess there is a reason why these failures sit on the shelf for years.....must be a subconscious feeling they still can be saved! :)

My knee-jerk reaction was to burn it - I was so disappointed to have 'ruined' it. But I just had too much time into it already. The 'remediation' took a while, but only a fraction of the time I spent on the first pass.

It’s a good thing you didn’t burn it Tom; I think it turned out great! The legs and the rim evolved nicely rattling around inside your dome, lol!! Way to stick with it!
