pyrographed bowl

pyrographed bowl in sycamore, approx 7" diameter.
The freehand pyrography took quite some time - I wanted to get a specific texture - which adds another level to the bowl when it's picked up and inspected (the striated texture has a root-like feel to it)
all comments and suggestions for improvement gratefully received!
Jason-

About 10 o'clock on your picture. Is that something in the picture or in the wood? Other than that I like.

Gary

Hi Gary, yup thats a slight discolouration of the wood, I harvested my own sycamore for this bowl, and its quite a challenge to find a perfect blank canvass for this kind of work! The bowl blanks with more noticeable inclusions I use to make ebonised bowls like the previous one.
Thank you for pointing that out, it is a useful reminder that we are all striving for perfection; and like my old school reports used to say "must try harder" hahahaha!
