Pecan Hollow Form

Pecan Hollow Form

Pecan hollow form with some brown shoe polish put on it to bring out some of the grain. I left just a tiny bit of the bark section on it for kicks. The pattern is on both sides. 5" dia. X 3" tall. Finished with Tung oil and Beall buffed. Thanks for looking and all comments welcome, Don L.
Very stunning piece. Don, did you 'see' that patterning in the wood and plan the orientation before turning?

Hi Barb! Yes, I like to keep some part of the bark on a piece whenever I can. This was just a sliver of the bark section that I wanted to keep. The first one I turned had too many cracks in it, so I turned another piece of the same branch, and this is how it turned out. The other one had the same pattern. Think I'll turn some more like this. It's only a little piece, but one of my favorite ones. Thanks form your comments, Don L.
