Peace on Earth

This 5 1/2" globe comes from a piece of driftwood I found on the shore of the Chesapeake Bay at a small retreat center call Charter Hall. The void that looks like a dove in flight was is the natural edge that showed up during turning, I am not sure about the type of wood, but I think it might be cherry. The image of a Peace Dove popped out of the photograph hence the name. It is finished with a couple of coats of sanding sealer and polyurethane .
