My wife asked me to make these 5-inch tall hummingbird houses for an upcoming Holiday Party she is having with the neighborhood ladies. I'm not sure the hummingbirds will know what to do with them (they are really
made only to be displayed indoors), but they have a nice look. Three were made from cherry and one was made from locust. Finish is sprayed lacquer.

Cousin of mine asked for a hummingbird house, but in doing research I mostly found hummingbirds will not use bird houses.

I agree Harold, hummingbirds are not known to use bird houses. These are really decorative birdhouses in a size that might fit a hummingbird. Thanks for the comment. My wife found the custom hangers at Hobby Lobby. They look a lot better than my usual small pieces of bent wire.
