Paper and Wood

This 14 inch Maple platter is a collaboration between my wife and I. I do the turning she does the quilling.
Beautiful effect. Is the quilling in resin or can you actually touch the paper?

The quilling is not in resin but once my wife has glued the pieces in place I soak them liberally with lacquer which protects the paper so you can easily touch the paper without damaging it. I have tried resin but prefer to not use it on art pieces like plates.

@Mark Harry Ah, very good. I was concerned with the fragility of the quilling. Again, it’s a beautiful effect.

Never heard of "Quilling", but it certainly is beautiful. Nice Piece and congrats to the both of you in a fine job.
