Do you change the string to transition from throw to traditional? I would be afraid to damage it by throwing. Very nice work.

Hey Richard. To make an on-the-fly transition from yo-yo to throw-top, you have to use a style called "5a" or "freehand", where the end of the yo-yo's string is not attached to your finger. Ed....did u yoyo in high school?

In the 50's and 60's, all the major US manufacturers had professional traveling yoyoist who would visit public schools throughout the country and give short demos during assembly. Pretty much everyone at that time was exposed to all the great things in life...yo-yoing, wood shop, metal shop, drive-in movies and big hair.
