Round (spherical) Ash hollow form, turned on 2 axes and sliced around a third. Re-assembled the two halves with Wenge pewa. About 6″ diameter. Finished with lacquer and buffed.
This was an experiment. I wanted to play with slicing a form on a different axis than how it was turned. I also wanted to play with a simple off-axis hollow form (mouth and foot not in-line). So I just combined the two into one. I think I see potential in the off-axis slice (which basically makes it a bit asymmetrical with the rest of the form). And the off-axis mouth is sorta quirky. The combination is a bit much probably.

Nice to see you back on this path Dave! Your alignment is spot on, hmmmm, lol! I’m curious if those Pewa locations were cit prior to splitting the piece? I’m eagerly awaiting the next one Dave!!

Thanks! I've had a couple months off due to moving and having to setup shop in the garage (and it's only recently the garage is warm enough to work in). Just put in for permits on the new shop - ground-breaking is hopefully just a couple weeks away!
I do cut some of the pewa before slicing. This piece has 6 pewa (every 60º). I can only predict accurately enough where 2 of those 6 need to be before cutting it apart (I can see where the blade will enter and leave the cut). So for this one I cut recesses for 2, sliced the hollow form, and glued in those 2 pewa. After that glue cured, I cut and inserted the other 4.
