oak_burl_with_brass_ring

This is a Oak burl(4 inches tall and 4 inches wide) that I put a brass ring around after hollowing out. Cut a small grove for the ring to sit in. Finished the piece with Danish Oil and wet sanded with the oil to 2000 grit, for that solf sliky feel. It took several tries to get the right fit on the ring ( split apart ) when it was right pulled the ring together and glued back together.
