Oak bowl

This small oak bowl - 6" dia - was made from a tree that came down this week during a storm in HKY, North Carolina. Not certain what type of oak, as the heart wood is more brown than what i'm used to seeing. Any ideas? Comments and feedback always welcome!
classic form Scott with a lovely piece of timber, are they radial lines? hope you dont get any cracking. nice job

Beautiful. It's nice to see a piece where the wood is the star and the turner has the wisdom and confidence to stay in the wings and simply turn on the microphone.
