"Nature Wins"
This piece is a take on the industrial revolution (metal frame) and bringing it back to the art that is all around us if we take the time (and dare) to look for it. Various woods, Tagua Nut, Resin, Stained Glass, Metal and Jewelry Findings
This multi-media diorama concept is interesting and creative, Marie. I really like the "cookie" slabs used for the shelving parts. Size ??? - I'm guessing 12"-15" high? Thanks for finally jumping in ... welcome!

If I recall, this one won People's Choice at the Turn-On Chicago symposium. Always fun to see your assemblages, Marie!

Hi Tom,
Thank you so much for your kind comments and for the welcome! It's about 8"x10" and the "cookie" slabs are Mulberry that was a piece I saved because it had such character and needed saving! (Not that any of us would understand. Ha!) I started this piece during an IRD I gave but wasn't entirely happy with the outcome so it sat for quite awhile. As I walked by the little stack of mulberry slabs I knew they were finally going to get a home and "Nature Wins" was finally ready to be completed.

Thanks Elizabeth! Yes, this is the piece that won People's Choice at Turn On! Chicago last week. I knew I was proud of it, but honestly, it is a very humbling experience to have your peers appreciate your work. It was nice to see you there!
