Natural Edge Walnut Bowl

Natural Edge Walnut Bowl

This is a walnut crotch piece with some other branch "challenges" that came along for the ride. A piece of bark flew off early on and I decided to save it and not glue it back on till the final shape was done and sanded. It still fit perfectly on the edge, but of coarse was out of alignment with the rest of the bowl. It's on the right side. I think it adds a little "what the ..." to the piece. 9.5" wide X 5.5" tall. Finished with Tung oil and Beall buffed. With that inside curve and the fragile bark, this was a bugger to sand. Thanks for looking and all comments welcome, Don L.
Ditto what the others have said. I keep coming back to look at the superb swirl figure.

Hi Don,

Your decision to stick with this piece despite the "challenges" was a good one. It has a lot of great figure going on and your choice of shape accents it very well. Nice work!
