Natsume

A small (2 3/4” h x 2 1/2” w) caddy for ground green tea (matcha), used in Japanese tea ceremony. African Blackwood, inlaid with a gold mother-of-pearl bonsai tree. Accent line is gold pearlized epoxy.
Very nice piece John....very elegant with just enough "bling". Did you decide on the accent ring before or after the inlay,....it really frames it well.

I decided to add the ring beforehand. I've done the same thing to frame wood inlays on other boxes and, like you, really liked the framing effect.
