The deepest vessel I have turned to date from Pacific Yew. This vessel measures 37.5" tall and 11" diameter, it was drilled to 32.5" deep and hollowed out to 27" deep. This was an old dry yew log and was difficult to control the hollowing bar, I would have had to make a second captive post with pegs to stop the double 72" bar from bouncing and then hitting the vessel sides. It was already a badly cracked piece. I had to buy a used bed extension to complete this piece. Finished with tung oil.
