(2014) Bucks Woodturners annual Pollyanna exchange piece – Theme ~ “Music Box”
Maple with textured lid & finial. 5⅛”ø x 6⅜”h.

Lid is indexed, textured with knurling tool, rotary burs, and wood burning. Painted white and added gold gilders paste. Finial is dyed black. Soundboard is pierced, woodburned, and colored with gilders paste.
Similar technique as used in "Textured Disc" previously posted.

Thanks, Russ. Seems like when I come up with a new design/technique (for me anyway) I use it a number of times throughout the year (or two). I've used similar patterns for small medallions on the inside of bowls, ornaments, and focal points on multi-center wall hangings.
