Nice work, Rusty. I see that the borers collaborated with you on this piece.

It looks like there was a void or a bark inclusion . I suspect that made it a challenge to turn. How large is the piece?
 
@odie sanding was easier than you think. I have a drum the same diameter as the hole. Add that to a drill extension and a drill, then run through the grits. It did try to hang once, but the tolerances are just too close to be a problem. I did have to keep my fingers crossed a time or two & utilize some stretch wrap while turning!
