Mesquite Burl Vase

Mesquite Burl Vase

It look a large block of wood to get down to a size that didn't look like it would immediately explode on the lathe. My experience is that Mesquite burl has significant bark inclusion. It adds to the character and also adds to concerns while turning. A bottle of CA and steady rest use contributed to success. 8 inches wide and 4 inches tall. Waterlox finish.
