Mesquite Burl Vase

Mesquite Burl Vase

Mesquite burl is gnarly, full of borers and bugs, has bark inclusion everywhere but it has great figure and color. Gouges, scrapers and CA are the tools for success. The chucked piece started much bigger and ended up 7" x 7". Larger than I expected. Lots of inlay and a turquoise stone on top. Vase or medium size urn.
